Oh my, what a mess!
So as some of you know, the patio addition has started this week. The entire yard is now a disaster area... It's going to take me ages to fix it! The work is not finished yet. They are coming back tomorrow to add the color and finish it up. Clean up will be Monday I think. BUT, I promiss, we'll have a decent size area for next year's party! :)

Richmond Party
So, the week-end in Richmond was absolutely fabulous! Gazillion Thanks to Jimmy and Carolyn for hosting us and also to Marie for dealing with 3 of us and allowing us to crash at her cute home! The flat is more hip than you can imagine and the pictures unfortunately don't show as much as I wanted... my batteries of course had to die on me... Anyways, it was a blast! Jimmy took me to Belle Island for some great site seeing. Beautiful place! We even got to see a raft getting stuck on a rock... The reunion was a lot of fun and wow, the bands were good! We danced all night and 2 days of heavy partying left me quite tired! I need a week to recover...

Parrots
I was just sitting here thinking of the other night when on the way home from partying Wayne pointed out three parrots in the top of a tree, but between it being almost dark, my poor eyesight, and too many cocktails, I couldn't see them. But I heard them. Then I realized there was this loud racket going on outside, and you guessed it, it was three parrots....after I took these pictures, they flew off, almost as if they had called me out there...

Rice, Gomez, Constanzer, Stewart Family Vacation
Hi Folks.
We had a fantastic week on Edisto Island, SC last week. There were 19 of us in an ocean front cottage that was just perfect for a group of our size. We danced, had a toenail painting party, consumed much liquid spirit, bobbed in the ocean (several of us got stung badly by sea nettles - I still have my marks and I'm sure Jill has hers which was the worst sting I have EVER seen!), kayaked, rode bikes, played music, went to Charleston 2 nights, ate wonderful meals prepared by the Young Adults, watched alligators being fed raw chicken thighs, played in a fountain in Charleston at night, enjoyed Archa Vaughan's visit, surfed, chicken-fought, played UNO, went "thrift store" shopping at a church, did a Charleston Ghost Walk, walked the beach, and laughed all week.
It was hard to settle back in the real world last Monday!
Carolyn
Note Jim's lovely toenail polish. Teresa was the artist; CON-artist, that is!

Mondays stink
Well, we had a wonderful weekend picnicing, snorkeling, and hanging with new pals...stayed over Saturday night at the Singer Island Hilton....but now I've got the Monday blues....hope eveyone's weekend was great. We'll be posting pictures soon.
Been meaning to post for all who have not heard, that Wayne starts as an official Lockheed Martin employee today. He reached an agreement with them a couple weeks ago, and looks like we'll be staying in sunny Florida for awhile. You all have an open invitation to visit.
Saw a movie over the weekend, "Once", it's playing at theaters and was recommended by our friend, Kimmie. Couldn't believe it was on Pay-per-View at the hotel. Would've been better on a big screen. It's lovely. Highly suggest you see it! I've already ordered the soundtrack.
Enjoyed chatting with several of you Friday evening (you know who you are!). Mary Lou and Wayne: letter is on the way today.
Have a great week.

Finding Whatever
There are several Palm Beach County Parks that provide underwater structure to attract tropical fish - The water is so clear with an abundance of tropical fish and coral reefs (haven't seen any sharks yet). Snorkeling is one of our new past-times here in Southern Florida. My graphics partner, Michael at Lockheed, is on the dive team and works at a dive shop - with his advice on equipment and a trip to the local dive shop, Susan and I are Jacques Cousteauing it on the weekends. Last Sunday, we hit Gulfstream Park and this week we are going to go to Peanut Island and then Ocean Reef Park. We joined some co-workers who have a Sunday snorkeling ritual. Olivia, Jennifer, and Sue took us to Gulfstream Park last weekend.

Kayaking Fun
So the weather was great last week-end and I packed the car with appropriate gear to go for some paddling! I went out on Saturday to my favorite beach on the bay. I was hoping to see some dolphins but they were out in the morning and not when I was on the water. Sunday I went for a 3 hour tour with 2 kayakers from the club in town. We dropped off of Lesner Bridge boat ramp. Took a pic of a couple of birds in their nest then. It was awesome, even though too hot to paddle so long. We had to fight some pretty strong currents on the way back. Needless to say I had a good workout and my arms are painfully recovering... Hope you all had a great week-end too!
