Good news!

We talked with Vickie last night and got an email from Lili, her Dad, this morning. Vickie's Mom, Maryvonne, has been home now for almost three weeks and is getting back to her normal life after two and a half months in and out of the hospital, mostly in. She lost a lot of weight but is gradually putting some back on with the help of her husband's wonderful cuisine. Her morale is good; she has a strong will and is very courageous. We are planning to go to Brittany with the girls next summer to celebrate Maryvonne's 60th birthday!! I'm looking for a French tutor here.

Thanks to everyone for the kindness and concern you've expressed for the Le Sellin family over the past few months. As with all our friends, they are a part of our extended family and we couldn't be more pleased at Maryvonne's progress. What a hard road it's been for them these last few months. And thank you as well for the prayers sent out for Maryvonne's return to health.

Hope this post finds each and everyone healthy and content. Have a great 4th of July. We miss you.

kitty shelf

There's a shelf in the kitchen that is so quirky, we haven't known what the heck it was there for or what to do with it, but it's been in the back of our minds since we moved in. My honey found the perfect solution last weekend. Check it out!

Have a great weekend everyone!

New Seven Wonders of the World

I've already sent this out to a bunch of folks, but I think it's important, so I'm going to put it up here, too. We heard about this on NPR. An international committee has formed to elect seven new wonders of the world because most of the original ones are gone. Go here to cast your vote: http://www.new7wonders.com/. I voted according to the "wonder" factor. I wonder how they built that with the limited materials and technology available to them at the time? I realize that a lot of people across the world will vote according to personal reasons: I'm a Christian, I'm a Muslim, I live in Russia, etc., but I think the name "Seven Wonders of the World" truly precludes that method.

My two cents for whatever that's worth.... oh, right...two cents...

Mr. Mai Tai

So what Mr. Mai Tai neglected to tell you is that I had to pull him off the bridge kicking and screaming insisting he was going to get the best shot of the shuttle, when back at the hotel parking lot, the bellmen showed me the little trail that indicated the shuttle had left!!

Here's a shot of my latest artistic endeavor. By the way, Nathan, love the Jimmy Tree Spirit unveiling...don't know how you manage to post there everytime, but it stays there permanently and has no place for comments....when it disappears, you'll know Wayne got tired of looking at it every day!! But it is awesome, can't wait for you to bring ours down here to us ; )

Well, everyone have a great weekend. We miss you all very much.

Space Cadets

Susan planned a great weekend up North in Stewart, Florida - We had heard of the sleepy town and we thought that we could see the Space Shuttle. She found us a room at the Marriott on Hutchenson Island. We felt like we were in the Bahamas. Good news: Great getaway weekend- Bad news: at the time of the Shuttle liftoff, the clouds prevented us from seeing - but, we heard it. After dinner, we came outside and saw the "aftermath" of the Shuttle in the sky - it resembled the Northern Lights. -
Happy Birthday Carolyn Faye!

Harbor Fest

Sorry I don't have pictures of high school graduation since we don't have graduations... So here are some pictures of last night's boat trip with friends. Some of the tall ships were hanging out around Ocean View area. We got to talk to the germans and the french crews! It was super cool! If you click on the pictures, they'll open a larger view... in case you didn't know. First ship is a canadian, second is the Virginia, third is the Jamestown, last one is the german ship.

Pirate Festival

Well, well, well, we had a great time at the Pirate Festival in Hampton on Saturday!

Kathy had a toe accident. After loosing half a pint of blood that was saved in a cup for mixing with the margaritas, she painted the band-aid to match her other pink toes... Carolyne bought a cute deer tiara... We went to eat at a restaurant off of main street and danced on old tunes the band played...

--------------------------------------------- Hope everybody who missed out still had a good week-end!
Cheers!
